The flowers adorning the meadows,
In grey light can barely be seen,
But the sun bursting out of the shadows
Lights them up with a golden gleam.
Reminds me of reading the Scripture—
Once, its beauty was hidden from me,
But enter the light of God’s Spirit
And such wonderful treasures I see.
He rolled back the darkness that blinded,
Put to flight the grey cloud of doubt,
Showed me the Son-Light behind it—
He, Whom Scripture was speaking about.
Christ the Son lights all my horizons;
I see all, with His purpose in mind;
The truth of His Word I rely on;
I’ve left all my dark shadows behind.
