There’s a way that seems right to man,
But its end is the way of death;
Surely everyone understands,
Death shuts the eyes of all the earth.
Do you ever think on these things?
Do you consider why it is so?
Why its specter rules over men?
And where do the dead people go?
Rich and poor, all meet the same end;
The great and the small will decease;
This sentence on all who have sinned!
Does descent to the grave bring peace?
Ponder on this while you have breath!
Consider it while you have strength!
Does existence finish at death?
Who knows his end or life’s length?
