SUDDEN DEPARTURE

With joy I watch for that promised day,
When Christ will snatch His pure bride away;
In the twinkling of an eye He’ll come,
When the church’s time on earth is done.

Now no one can know the day or hour
Which the Father keeps within His power,
But we’ve been told we must watch and pray:
Beware lest you miss that longed-for day!

It comes on earth like a hidden snare
And catches all who are unaware,
But we who dwell in the Living Light
Will be secure, be it day or night.

We’ve been told to watch as there are signs
To show we live in the final times:
Search out His Word with a loyal heart;
In the day of wrath you have no part!

May His coming fill your heart with praise;
With joy may you occupy your days:
Share your precious hope with all who’ll hear:
Look up!! Rejoice!! The Great Day is near!!
